Michael Dark has been involved in training and raising dogs since 1983. His first dog, Megan, was a pregnant rescue that sought refuge inside a police patrol car during a winter night in Chicago. His family thought it was inconceivable to turn her into the pound so they kept her.

 

Over the years, Michael has had six different dogs and all have been family pets. The training was never professional, but with love and consistently they had great pets. In 2010, Michael decided to help foster a pup from the Guide Dogs of America which exposed him to better methodologies in dog training.

 

With the acquisition of his English Lab pup in early 2016, he decided to seek a more formalized training method.  Michael then came to learn about the tremendous training results that Off-Leash K9 Training was getting and decided that it would work well for him and his pup, Oso!

 

Michael was so blown away by the results of Off-Leash K9 Training, he then decided to join their ranks as a full-time trainer! Michael started OffLeash SoCal in 2017.
