Doberman Pinscher - Dog Trainer | Bonnie | Lake View Terrace, CA

Bonnie, a Doberman Pinscher from Lake View Terrace, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training Two Week SoCal Board & Train dog training program. Bonnie was trained by dog trainer Wyatt Harris in Ontario, CA.

Welcoming Bonnie, a 4 month old Doberman Pinscher pup joining Off Leash Socal for our two Week board and train program. She joins the team with her brother Clyde. She is definitely the more confident of the two but has lots of room to improve on her command obedience, leash walking skills and containing her destructive chewing behaviors. Were excited to watch her and her brother progress together.

After some getting used to being without her brother, Bonnie has really warmed up to me and is willing to get right to training. Today we did light work in multiple areas that need attention for her. She began learning the "place" command, learning to hold her command until she hears the release command "break". We walked with a leash on for a while and made some progress getting her a little more comfortable with a collar and leash on.

Bonnie out taking a little break on our walk today. She is slowly warming up to wearing a collar and walking on a leash. With some encouragement and patience, she will follow along without crying. We are keeping this distances rather short to ease her into it. She gets easily discouraged so being gentle with the leash is a must. Pulling too hard in any direction makes her more nervous than anything.

Out on our morning walk today before it got too warm. We walked about 2 miles on leash this morning and will do even more tonight as it cools down. She is definitely becoming more comfortable walking outside with a leash and collar on. Refraining from pulling or tugging hard on the leash to avoid discouraging her. Positive and encouraging attitude makes her much more willing to follow.

Getting Bonnie out around some distractions on our walk. The ice cream truck and mail man were both good distractions for her. She's a very curious pup once she gets passed some of that nervous energy.

Bonnie out on our walk enjoying the shade. She is so much happier on a leash starting out week one. Im extremely impressed with her progress and willingness to learn.

On our evening walk A nice cool evening let me and Bonnie stay out for a while longer getting some practice in. Although showing lots of progress with her leash manners, we have some more work to do this second week on some of her commands. She is still trying to find The confidence to create distance between us and to place on higher objects.

Some well deserved puppy playtime for Bonnie. After two weeks of hard work she deserves to have some fun and run around the park with another pup about the same age as her.
